🌄 Settling In for the Weekend
Arriving on Friday evening felt like stepping straight back into the Unit 16 bubble. The kind where everyone’s excited and ready for whatever the weekend throws at us. Once our tents were up and the camp was sorted, we were already buzzing for the activities ahead.
🚣♂️ Teamwork, Challenges & A Lot of Laughing
Saturday was absolutely packed. We spent the day in our groups taking on a whole mix of team building activities:
-
Rafting - where staying dry was definitely not guaranteed
-
Pioneering - where we worked as a team to build a structure
-
Axe throwing - which was extremely competive
Between activities, we also created our own mental health first aid kits, which led to some really thoughtful conversations about how we support ourselves and each other, especially as the Jamboree gets closer.
Then came the moment everyone had been waiting for: receiving our UK Contingent badges. We also had the chance to buy extra Unit 16 badges for trading, which instantly sparked excitement about swapping with Scouts from all over the world.
🎤 Eurovision Night at Camp
Saturday night was iconic. Eurovision + a field full of Scouts + snacks + questionable singing = perfection. We also had the opportunity to relax around the campfire and get to know one and other better.
🏹 Archery, TikToks & Heading Home
Sunday morning came around far too quickly. We struck camp, packed away tents, and squeezed in a session of archery before getting ready to head home. Some of us also filmed TikToks for the Unit account to share our journey.
By 2pm it was time to head home, tired but happy after an amazing weekend together.
💛 A Huge Thank You
None of this would’ve happened without our incredible leaders. Their planning, energy, and patience which made the whole weekend unforgettable.
